20: What's your favorite eye colour?
This is an odd question isn't it? I mean all colours of eyes are glorious because they are so individual aren't they? I like Mr Cee's eyes which are olive green and they were one of the things I found attractive about him. However, I would no doubt have been attracted to him if his eyes had been another colour - it's only one facet of a person.

Youngest Cee is 24 today. He liked his presents and we had a very nice lunch out today. There is bonus sunshine today and we have spent the afternoon in the garden drinking coffee and chatting.  Peaceful....

Brrrrr.....

The temperature has dropped significantly the last couple of days and we've had thick frost which has been a real contrast to the beginning of the week which was lovely and sunny.

I promised photos of my glass studio and below the cut these can be found...

I had a lovely birthday on Friday despite it being cold.  Mr Cee took the day off and we went up to London to have brunch at one of our favourite restaurants in Covent Garden before walking down to the British Museum to have a good look at all the exhibits. It's a long time since we've been there, and I enjoyed it.  We started off in the clocks and watches exhibition (photos and more under the cut)

In other news - the nasty ezcema on my hands has flared up again, and I wasn't near any plants yesterday!  I am therefore stumped as to what is causing it, but it woke me up at 1am this morning so I took some anti-histamine and smothered my hands in hydrating cream but it's really itchy. *sigh*

It's annoying as the tiles for the kitchen and the two bathroom sinks have arrived and I'd like to be getting on with putting them on the walls.  Instead I shall be forced to sit around and catch up with TV which I suppose is not a bad thing for a Sunday.

I completely forgot about posting anything yesterday for this meme and only remembered when I was in bed (too late!).

However, yesterday was a very good day as I managed to pack away some things ready for moving.  We haven't had anyone come to see our house yet, but I'm not concerned as it's the Easter break for schools around here at the moment and because our borough schools have broken up earlier than many others a lot of people seem to be away.  We have had nearly 400 'hits' to our entry online and quite a few people driving past slowly.  I'm quite glad that we haven't had anyone round yet as that's given us some time to make the house more presentable. Last week I pressure-washed our driveway which now looks fabulous.

Today's happy thing is getting some more things sorted out - I'm putting a new coat of paint on the smallest bedroom walls as it's the only room that looks a little shabby.  It's looking much better for it.

Also today is Youngest Cee's birthday! He is 22 - I can't quite believe it! He's also so tall now (6 foot 5 inches!) that I feel very short next to him at 5 foot 11 inches!!  But he's still my baby and we love him for his kindness and his lovely personality. I have made him a chocolate cake with Guinness in it which is cooling at the moment and smells delicious. :)

ETA: finished cake!

S'cold!!

Today has been really cold - and rainy.  The temperature dipped so low yesterday that we even had a swift and (thankfully) brief fluffy snow shower in the morning.

It seems a long time ago now, but when we went down to visit Eldest Cee for his birthday it was gloriously sunny in Brighton on Tuesday and Wednesday.  We decided to take Eldest Cee out to a zoo, which in hindsight was a bit silly as it was half term for the schools so mostly the zoo park was incredibly crowded.  The upside was that the park we went to has a LOT of activities for small children (climbing frames/adventure playgrounds etc), so the children we far too interested in that to actually look at the animals there so we rather enjoyed it.

Drusilla's Park and some photos.. )

We had lunch and spent a couple of hours walking around.  It was fun!  We dropped Eldest Cee off at his flat and then headed off to check into the hotel we were staying in (another Amazon Local discounted deal). We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel had a Super Kingsize (6' wide) bed just like we have at home.  Bliss!!  We almost never get a bed that we will be comfortable in at an hotel.

We had a bit of a relax after all the walking and then met Eldest Cee at a local Greek restaurant we all like.  We could all walk there which was nice and so we could have a bottle of wine and a nice long chat over the delicious food.  It was lovely to catch up - we do chat regularly on the phone but it's not the same as seeing someone 'in person' is it!

After our meal we said our goodbyes and Eldest Cee walked home and we wandered back to the hotel which looked great in the evening:

2015-02-17 20.07.42

We had a very nice cocktail in the bar and then went to our room and had a very comfortable sleep - we'll definitely use this hotel again.  The next day Mr Cee and I decided to wander around the Brighton antiques shops in the morning.  We did ask if Eldest Cee wanted to join us, but he didn't want to get up early, so we went on our own.  We had given him his birthday presents the day before and didn't expect him to want to get up early two consecutive days on days off from work!  It was great fun and we didn't find any 'bargains' so we made our way back home missing out on lunch as we'd had an ENORMOUS breakfast at the hotel.

It was a really nice break!

Next week I start being a little bit busier with work related stuff which should be interesting - two days will be spent travelling around and then for the next month I have work things every week - I'm hoping it will get a bit warmer!

Happy Sunday all!

And I found another meme on [livejournal.com profile] brutti_ma_buoni's Lj which took my fancy so here's that one as well...  This one is supposed to be for older people so I qualify!

In other news Mr Cee and I went to see The Kingsman: The Secret Service last Friday and then went to the Waldorf for dinner. The Kingsman is very much in the same vein as Kick Ass but extremely 'English' and we really enjoyed it.  Think James Bond with tongue firmly in your cheek!  Apparently Colin Firth trained for several months to do almost all the stunts himself and is looking extremely trim for a 54 year old!  The meal was courtesy of an Amazon Local voucher so cost us virtually nothing, but was absolutely delicious!

This week is Eldest Cee's 24th birthday (where does the time go!!), so we're off to visit him tomorrow and combine it with a very short break in Brighton.  See you on the flipside!

Waves!

It's been a very busy week so far and it's not even over yet!

On Tuesday I met [livejournal.com profile] lilachigh at Charing Cross and despite the hammering rain, we walked over to the National Gallery to see Rembrandt: The Late Works exhibition.  We had timed tickets for 10.30am, but no-one seemed bothered that we had arrived at 10am and we went straight into the exhibition.

More plus some favourite pictures.... )

Today as it's Mr Cee's birthday he took the day off and we went up to London to visit the Sherlock Holmes museum which I have visited before (back in January - see here), but Mr Cee hasn't been.  He was as fascinated as I was about the amount of detail there is in this former boarding house.  They literally have crammed so much authentic Victorian clutter into the rooms that even though this was my second visit there were things I had not noticed before.

The game's afoot.... )

After we'd visited the museum we walked down to the Burlington Arcade to look at all the jewellery and shops where we can't afford anything.  For example look at this exquisite little travel clock:

clock

It is gold, with engine turned engraving on the case.  The face of the clock is 2.5cm square, and the case only a little bigger so it has a loop for a chain to wear it around your neck once folded shut.   So pretty and a mere £1995... (eeep!)

After that we went to eat at Jamie's Italian in Piccadilly.  I have a Gold Membership card and on my birthday they had offered a free bottle of Prosecco if I booked a table before the end of the month, so we took advantage of the offer today. They must have had a note about my birthday as when we checked in I was wished a 'happy birthday' and when we told them it was Mr Cee's birthday today he was congratulated too.  The Prosecco was very delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and both got a nice surprise when our desserts arrived :)

Yumm!!  We waddled back home after this and my Fitbit told us that we had walked over 10,800 steps or 8km :)

It's been a good few days!
kazzy_cee: (reading summer)
So Mr Cee and I have had the week off - so apologies for lack of comments.  I have read though entries - although my wifi connection has been playing up today, so I'm hoping that it will hold out long enough to post this!

We took advantage of an Amazon Local deal to go down to Brighton for a couple of nights from Monday to Wednesday.  It was really good - although initially I was a little worried as the room was right up in the roof of the hotel.  Fortunately (!?) the toilet had a flushing problem so we moved to a much larger room which was fabulous and had amazing views over the sea.  We were also incredibly lucky with the weather as it was amazingly sunny and warm!  I had to buy sunglasses!!  I will post some photos tomorrow as it was gorgeous.

We came home on Wednesday via Hever Castle as we've not been there for ages.  Absolutely fabulous weather again.

Then on Thursday is was Youngest Cee's 21st birthday.  We had a quiet day as we'd walked miles and miles over the previous few days, and it was nice to chill out for a bit, enjoy the day and catch up with him.  We took him to a local Greek restaurant.

Friday we went up to the Tower of London.  Another very bright day, although we've been suffering with some nasty pollution and we all came home with rather gritty eyes, and clogged sinuses (sorry TMI!).

Today the pollen has kicked in, and poor Mr Cee is sneezing almost constantly.  The pollution is still not very good around here, and tomorrow there will have to be some car washing as they are covered with Sahara sand and dust.

Back to work on Monday after a really good week.  Wish it was two weeks really... Picspam tomorrow :D

I really like this - so clever. Some nice picks of sound bites too.

In other news it's Mr Cee's birthday today. Unfortunately he had to go to work as he has to attend a training course which means he'll be home much later than usual. Not much of a fun birthday.

Phew!

Happy Mother's Day to all those UK mums celebrating today. I am having a lovely day so far with champagne from Eldest boy and music from Youngest boy. :)

Saturday's 18th 'get together' went really well.

Today has been the actual birthday and he's really like the gifts he's had - we bought him a new laptop computer which he's busily loading up with programs! ;) */teckie!family* Thank you for all the good wishes!

I can't believe I now have a 20 year old and an 18 year old.... I feel old!!! LOL!

I hope everyone else has had a good weekend!

I know I've been around Lj much recently, but I thought I'd let you know that I shall be absent for the next few days.

Sunday is Youngest Cee's 18th birthday, and on Saturday he's invited 25 friends around to our house for a birthday 'gathering'. We really like all his friends, so I know they're going to have fun. Apparently quite a few will be staying overnight (crashing on the floor!).

Friday evening will be spent shopping for food (they want to BBQ by themselves!), tiding up, and getting tons of food ready, sleeping bags aired, putting together music mixes (he wants me to help!! I'm rather pleased about that!) and generally getting ready for them all to arrive from mid afternoon on Saturday.

Could be busy 0_o

And noisy!

And involve lots of tidying up on Sunday...

I'll see you all on the flip side!

So - today was the deadline I gave the Powers that Be to sort out my job..

to spare your flist )
In other news it is my eldest son's birthday today.  He is 20 years old (how did that happen??!!!??).  Mr Cee went and collected him from University today so he can spend some time celebrating this weekend with us.  So far he's fallen asleep in the car on the way home, fallen asleep on the sofa, and fallen asleep in his bed, been woken up for Chinese food, and fallen asleep again.  Ah - students :)  He'll be going back to Uni. on Sunday, so I hope he's awake enough to have a proper conversation with before he goes back. :P

Youngest Cee and I have a week off next week \0/ so we will be mostly sleeping.  Although I am supposed to be meeting with [livejournal.com profile] lilachigh on Monday to do something (which we haven't actually arranged yet) and seeing other RL friends for much chatting and catching up.

Happy Friday everyone! :D

I got home from work on Friday and realised I'd been wearing mis-matched ankle boots all day! One black, one purple completely different styles!! LOL!

Fortunately they were the same heel height, so that's probably why I didn't notice.

Thing is ... no-one else noticed either!!!

Time for a book of days I think! )

Today is Mr Cee's birthday - he is my toy boy by 16 days. He's had a nice day so far ;)

Happy weekend everythone :)
kazzy_cee: (ani applause)
.. to come home to lots of lovely birthday wishes and a virtual present on Lj and virtual cards via email, and Twitter 'happy birthdays', and Facebook messages and FB virtual cards, and text messages too! \0/ \0/

Eeeee - innit funny to have all these virtual worlds??

Thank you to everyone!

It's been a very busy day that's gone incredibly quickly. I have presents from Mr Cee and the boys and we celebrated my birthday last weekend when Eldest Cee was home for a few days from University!

Today I had birthday good wishes from colleagues and some of my younger students found out (from a colleague I think!) that it was my birthday and came to the staff room and gave me birthday hugs (which was lovely!).

There was also chocolate!

I shall have more celebrations at the weekend I think as Mr Cee has suggested we go shopping (I see new shoes in my future! LOL!)

Thank you all again it's really cheered me up today!! *hugs you!!!!*

Yesterday evening Mr Cee and I hosted a joint birthday party for our half century celebration. It was lovely!

cut to spare you the ramblings )

Hope everyone had an equally lovely time this weekend! :)
kazzy_cee: (ani very organised)
Just popping my head up to say hi!

My busybusyinsanebusy-ness is finally slowing down. I'm sure that it will pick up again soon, but the light - she is visible! :)

We have a 'mock Ofsted' inspection visit next week which I just have to sort out paperwork for (nearly done!). We are still waiting to hear about the real Ofsted visit, but time is running out as they have to give an institution 3 weeks notice and we've not heard anything yet. So I'm hoping that will come after the Christmas break.

So life has calmed down and it's all good -

Eldest Cee is doing exambusywork at Uni. and seems to be coping. Youngest Cee is busy with busywork at school but seems to be coping too.

Mr Cee is celebrating his birthday tomorrow and catches me up as he reaches his half century (yes I married a younger man.... 16 days younger LOL!).

We're both at work tomorrow but shall celebrate in the evening with a take away curry (mmmmm curry) and possibly a tipple or two.

In a couple of weeks we're having a joint party, so that should be fun.

Ummm - that's about it! *g* *waves*

Me again - boy these days fly by when you're busy!! I now have two weeks off! *bliss!*

Yesterday was the youngest Mr Cee's 16th birthday. Wow - 16 years old, and now he's as tall as his 6'4" Dad. Good grief - I'm truly the shortest person in the house!!

He had to go to school unfortunately, but he got lots of good wishes from lots of classmates. Mostly the girls wanted to wish him happy birthday by writing on his arm!!

pictures of happy birthday wishes )

He had a good evening and this afternoon my parents will be coming over for birthday cake. Mmm chocolate birthday cake! :)

In other news - I have signed up to go to the Midimeet in Coventry on 14-16 August. This will make the third year of a super fun weekend. This year we will be embracing even more fandoms which makes it really interesting (although I've realised I'm rubbish on a quiz team, so I apologise for my lack of knowledge to my prospective team members in advance!).

The very brilliant committee has also managed to score an extremely reasonable room rate in the hotel. Well done!

I'm looking forward to it - if anyone is thinking of joining us, I'd really recommend it - there's nothing nicer than getting together with online friends and finding out they're just as lovely as you thought they'd be :)

18 today!

My eldest son turned 18 today! Good grief - that makes me feel old!

For the next four weeks he's off to look at Universities having been offered interviews at four of the five universities he applied for. Two have already given him conditional offers even though they've not actually met him yet.

He's also been offered the chance of a scholarship at the University he's keen to go to so that could be a very good thing.

Today was spent as a family with an outing to a local Chinese restaurant and then lots of relaxing for the afternoon watching the DVDs of the Granada series Sherlock Holmes which were one of his presents. We've bought him a laptop for now/University but it hasn't arrived yet - he's very excited! :) Everyone else gave him cash so he's treated himself to a new iPOD Touch.

A good day!
